Stage One: Explant Selection

The explant is taken from the desired donor date palm. The selection of the explant is crucial as it ensures the cultured plant has the qualities of the mother plant.

Stage Two: Plantlet Growth

The explant grows and produces many date palm plantlets that are genetically identical to the donor date palm.

Stage Three: Root Development

The plantlets from Stage II then develop roots, which are essential for their growth in the greenhouse.
